Okay so I wanted to share something here that my husband did of me. So this photograph was taken by him and photoshoped by him..


I rather like how it turned out. And I like the message. There are lots of crazy stereotypes. Having white skin and pink eyes is a common misconception. Most people w/albinism have blue to blue grey eyes. Mine however are purple. And I have met a few others with purple eyes which I think is awesome.

Well lets see where to start....

For the camera I ended up getting the Rebel T1i or (500D) and I love it. I am quite happy with it. The 7D is nice but I like mine better. LOL Its lighter, smaller (I have small hands) and also the 7D has some things I am not crazy about. For instance if you want to use the wireless remote if have to manually focus it. My hubby John has the new 7D and it seems the only lens's that really seem to work well with it are Canon's L series and the Fixed Focal Lens's. Even with the lens calibrator option his Tamron lens was still soft most times. He didn't have that problem with his old camera. So really the new Rebel is perfect for me...

As for lens's heres what I have and what I have decided I want...
I own
-Canon 20mm (this is my newest lens... I love it! No need to keep backing up and backing up some more to try and get a full body shot or group shot. This lens is going to really come in handy.)

-Canon 50mm (the $90 dollar version) I have wanted to upgrade this lens since I seriously got into photography. I just love the 50mm. The better version is quieter, faster, built better and it looks more professional. Its nice to look profession when doing sessions. Mind you my 50mm has been a wonderful lens and still is but there is something to be said for the better version.

-Canon 100mm Macro Lens (I LOVE LOVE this lens.. so crisp... One of my favorite lens's by far)

-Canon 55 to 250mm IS Lens (This is a nice zoom lens and it seems to do a pretty good job Its relatively new so I look forward to shooting with it more.)

Want/Need to buy
-Canon 20mm Lens Hood
-Canon 55 to 250mm Lens Hood

Eventually (hope soon) want to buy
-Canon 50mm 1.4 Lens and its lens hood (as explained above)

Sometime down the road but in no rush to do so I would like to get Canon's 200mm 2.8 Fixed Focal Lens and the 2x Converter for my long lens or zoom as it may. I just like fixed focal better. Once I do that my camera gear will be complete for a while as those are what I have decided I really want now. I am in no rush for this lens though... in do time.

Now got to get an area ready for shooting... so once Caitlin goes to school next year I am able to slowly hopefully do something with this. I wanna shoot more but with her home its just not an option. She has to come first.

So those are my thoughts...

Well I have decided to wait a little longer and save up for Canon's new DSLR Camera. I got to play with one at Best Buy the other day and am sold on wanting to buy one. Its super nice and I wish I could have it sooner than later. Oh and can't forget a Battery Grip and extra Battery..

The camera will come much before the lens's ever will. I can't justify spending that much on a lens yet although I wish I could. But in a few months I should be able to pick up the 7D. I am so excited for that.

Well I am looking to sell my camera and saving up for the new Canon Rebel T1i. Anyone wanting to buy a well cared for DSLR? Its a Rebel XTi and I'm selling it with the choice of the Canon USM 24-105mm Lens or the Canon 18-55mm IS Lens. It will have 2 batteries the charger. Anyone interested? Best Offer...

The 24-105mm just sold. So it would come with the 18-55mm IS Lens, which is better for most people since it has image stabilizer for shooting indoors or in low light. Its less likely to blur than a non IS lens.


Asking maybe $300. (+ like $20 for shipping, or whatever shipping actually costs.) Plus I'll include two 2GB Compact Flash Cards.

I have a question for those who have done and do calendars.. I am considering publishing a water drop calendar and a kitty calendar. How does it work? Can you upload 2 separate photo's. One for the deviation and one for the calendar? I would like to use my own copyright on my deviations but I think if I upload some for the calendar, if I don't want them to have my copyright on them I have to upload them without the copyright right? I hope this is making sense?

I have to make a cover and back for the calendar correct? Or thats how I understand it. Any feedback on doing a calendar would be greatly appreciated. I have been reading the FAQ's but still a little on the confused side.
